During this initial phone call we will also take payment details for the registration fee of €85

We will then forward suitable CV’s as soon as possible sending them by email or by post

Interviews can be arranged by the agency, or the family and candidate may make contact directly

When the family are satisfied that they have found the right person for their children then the placement is confirmed.

If the Au Pair is living overseas then dates, flights etc are booked by the family.

Our Au Pairs

Age range 19 – 30 years

Generally European students in Ireland to learn English

They may attend Language Classes daily

When they register with Parenting Solutions each Au Pair must attend our compulsory “Introduction to First Aid” course before being placed with a Host family.

The Au Pair acts a second pair of hands for parents and will help with the children and light housework

Some Au Pair+ will have previous babysitting or even childcare experience

If “Live-in”, the Host family must provide a bedroom with TV etc for the Au Pair

Au Pair Duties:

Taking the children to and from playgroups/schools

Organising play dates/additional activities and outings

Arts and crafts and other activities

Preparation of childrens’ meals and sometimes family meals

Children’s laundry and ironing

Maintaining children’s bedroom, play area, kitchen area

Our Au Pair Pack:

All Au Pairs placed by Parenting Solutions receive an “Au Pair pack”.    A useful handbook for parents and au pairs, including Health & Safety information and local activity information for au pairs

Permanent Nannies:

Weekly rate:

€500 – €550* gross – 5 days per week/€450 – €480* gross – 4 days per week
 

Hourly rate:

€10 – €12 per hour*

Note:

Candidates are employed by the family and have the same entitlements as any other employee

*Depends on; Live in/out, ages and number of children, hours, nanny’s experience, specialised care.

Live in nannies earn approx €50 less per week.

Temporary Nannies:

Weekly rate:

€500 per week — 5 days

Daily Rate:

€100 per day

24 Hour rate:

€150 per 24 hours – live in/out

Agency Fees

Irish Placements:

Full time Permanent: 10% of the gross annual salary + VAT

Temporary: €25 + VAT per day. €100 + VAT per week

Overseas Placements:

Full time Permanent: 15% of the gross annual salary + VAT

Temporary:  €100 + VAT per week

General Terms

Client Registration Fee: €85 (VAT inclusive)

This is non refundable and is a once off payment

All placement fees (see below) are subject to VAT

Invoices are issued on the day the placement is confirmed. The payment terms are as follows:

• Fee paid in full within 7 days of invoice being issued – 10% discount will be given

or

• 50% of the fee is paid upfront by Laser or Credit Card and the remaining 50% must be paid on the fourth Friday after the Nanny commences employment with the family.

For New Parents – a 4 week course:
Introducing Solids - Weaning from Breast to Bottle, Nutrition, First Foods and much more.

Mother and baby well-being workshop - covers all aspects of mother and baby’s well being, including some soothing baby massage strokes, postnatal exercises with attention to toning your post-pregnancy tummy, advice on all kinds of “baby issues” like colic, reflux, fussing and crying. Also includes advice on the prevention of post-natal depression and tips on some fun games for parent and baby to partake together.

Paediatric First Aid - Introduction to First Aid when caring for children. The topics covered will include CPR for infants, Choking in babies and infants, Meningitis, Head injuries and Temperature management.

Sleep Routines - Detailed presentation on the benefits of good sleep routines for babies. Tips on how to set up a sleep routine for babies and toddlers and much more.

Introducing Solids and Sleep Routines are presented by Teresa Boardman who has over 20 years experience as a Nanny, Maternity Nurse and Sleep Trainer working with children from newborn upwards.

The Mother and Baby Well Being Workshop is presented by Liselotte Hill who is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, Registered Midwife and RGN and Paediatric Nurse. See http://www.little-miracles.eu for more details.

The Paediatric First Aid Class is presented by Siobhan Butler who has over 22 years working as both a Registered General and Paediatric trained nurse and is currently working in an Accident and Emergency Department in a Dublin Hospital. This 3.5 hour intensive course helps Parents-to-Be “get it right from the beginning” and includes the following:

Information on Baby care - Breast and bottle feeding, nappy changing, winding and bathing including demonstrations

Sleep - Routines and issues that may arise

Play and Development - The importance of play and what activities to provide for your baby

Baby’s Health

Out and About - Travel Systems, a car seat demonstration, safety in the home and products on the market

Best practices in Baby Care is presented by our Sleeping Training Expert and Recruitment Consultant, Teresa Boardman. Teresa has over 20 years experience caring for children from newborn upwards.

Out and About is presented by an expert from Murphy’s Nursery Store, Rathcoole.

• During this initial phone call we will also take payment details for the registration fee of €85
• The CV for the candidate will then be sent by email or post
• Before the “Consultation” a detailed diary of the child’s day must be kept for 3 consecutive days
• The “Consultation” will be organised at a time/day to suit you, evenings and weekends are available
• After this a follow up plan will be agreed

In the case of “Sleep training” the consultant offers the following:

• 3 consecutive nights
• 12 hour shift per night
• Parents and trainer working to establish a routine suitable for the family

After a detailed phone discussion to ascertain the problem a consultation with one of our specialists is organized.  A tailor made plan is suggested; as we understand that each family’s needs are unique.

How the process works:

• Detailed diary of the child’s day to be kept for 3 consecutive days
• Consultation organised at a time/day to suit you, evenings and weekends available
• Follow up plan agreed

In the case of “Sleep training” the follow up is:

• 3 consecutive nights
• 12 hour shift per night
• Parents and trainer work together to establish a routine suitable for the family

How the process works:

• We will be in contact to discuss the details and confirm that we have a suitable Maternity Nurse available in your locality, for the number of nights you have requested and for the duration of the contract
• During this initial phone call we will also take payment details for the registration fee of €85
• The CV’s for the suitable candidate/s will then be sent by email or in the post
• If booking in advance, clients may wish to meet with the Maternity Nurse before the baby’s arrival
• Generally if the position is due to commence immediately then the client will speak with the candidate over the phone and they make arrangements for the start date and time
• We will be in contact with the Night Nurse and the family regularly throughout the contract
